Every 10 years, as mandated by the U.S. Constitution, our nation conducts a census - an effort to count every person living in the United States. The key to this endeavor is having every household fill out and mail back a completed census form. Participation is critical, as the results determine how Congress is apportioned and how more than $300 billion in federal funds are distributed annually to state, local, and tribal areas.
Creating a Complete County Committee (CCC) in your county will increase your constituents understanding of the census and hopefully their willingness to return a questionnaire. The following 43 counties have established Complete Count Committees: Adams, Allen, Ashtabula, Athens, Auglaize, Belmont, Brown, Clermont, Cuyahoga, Delaware, Erie, Fairfield, Franklin, Gallia, Greene, Guernsey, Hamilton, Harrison, Highland, Hocking, Huron, Jackson, Jefferson, Lake, Lawrence, Licking, Lorain, Lucas, Madison, Medina, Meigs, Montgomery, Morgan, Pickaway, Pike, Portage, Scioto, Tuscarawas, Union, Van Wert, Warren, Washington, and Wood.
Both the U.S. Census and State of Ohio have interactive 2010 Census websites.
